The PEAKS ECO system uses municipal solid waste to support the circular economy ideology, extracting maximum energy from it and minimizing all water, soil and air emissions to maximize waste disposal benefits.
Municipal solid waste (MSW) is the most challenging fuel for power generation due to its complexity, low calorific value, high moisture content and potentially harmful emissions. The PEAKS ECO system uses municipal solid waste to support the circular economy ideology, extracting maximum energy from it and minimizing all water, soil and air emissions to maximize waste disposal benefits. Virtually all waste can be recycled as raw material or energy, leaving less than 5% for final disposal. The PEAKS ECO ecosystem solution combines three simple and powerful waste-to-value technologies into one integrated solution. Waste pre-sorting solutions divide waste into recyclable substances (glass, metal, plastic, etc.), organic and inorganic. Recycled materials will replace raw materials in manufacturing and be remade into everyday goods. The organic matter will be used for biogas production, so as to obtain purified natural gas or direct electricity heating, and then the biogas residue will be composted in the sun room, and finally processed into nutrient soil for greening. The inorganic materials will eventually be incinerated for energy.
